2018 - Year of the Dog

Cedar loves to be dressed up

2018 was the year of the dog according to the Chinese zodiac. If you have been following our blog you know that 2018 was definitely the year of the dog here, or more specifically the year of Cedar Sunbeam.

first run of 2019
Cedar has been the highlight of our running year. I adopted him in March from the Oregon Humane Society, he was a wild child. Since then he has run trails around Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. Jefferson and ran all 30 miles of Wildwood with us. He has been to the beach and is currently in love with the snow. Cedar has turned into a total dirtbag runner, he would live in our Sprinter Van if we let him, he licks our beer taps clean after we pour beer.  We are looking forward to many more running adventures in 2019 with him.

2018 was also the year that we had to say goodbye to Oscar my first dog crush. Oscar was my good friend Karrla's dog who we took on a lot of backpacking and mountain biking adventures. Once Susan and I started running trails we took Oscar on a lot of our long runs, until he started having issues with his back legs. Oscar was an ex-sled dog, who I once ran a 5k with, which is also where I PR'd. Oscar we miss you.
